How to Be a Great Co-Host in TPT

Updated over 3 months ago

When you join a giveaway through TPT, you’re not just a contributor — you’re a co-host. That means you’ll be introduced to new leads who opted into the Results Portal and selected your gift — even if they don’t know you yet.

These new contacts are cold traffic, and they need a warm welcome.

Co-Hosting Best Practices

✅ DO:

  • Treat these leads with respect — they’ve just entered your world for the first time.

  • Lead with value, not a pitch. Deliver what you promised in your digital asset.

  • Use your welcome emails to build connection and trust.

  • Share stories, helpful tips, and soft introductions to your brand and mission.

  • Ask questions or invite engagement — help them feel seen, not sold to.

❌ DON’T:

  • Add them to your main email list without permission.

  • Push high-ticket offers in your first email.

  • Send multiple email sequences at once.

  • Spam them with unrelated offers or third-party promotions.

Why Co-Hosting Works

This model allows everyone in the giveaway to gain visibility and grow their audience. By treating these leads like collaborators — not customers — you build long-term relationships that lead to better conversions and higher engagement over time.

🎯 Your goal isn’t to close the sale on Day 1. It’s to open a conversation that lasts beyond Day 30.

🧊 When to Sell to Cold Traffic

Selling too soon can turn people off. But waiting too long can mean missed opportunity.

Here’s how to time your offers in a way that feels natural and welcome:

🪄 The Warming Sequence

  1. Email 1–2:

    • Deliver your asset

    • Introduce yourself and your “why”

    • Share a personal story that relates to the problem you solve

  2. Email 3–4:

    • Offer value (a bonus, resource, tip, or story)

    • Invite engagement (a reply, a quiz, a quick win)

  3. Email 5+:

    • Introduce a soft call to action

    • Example: “If you’d like support implementing this, here’s how we can work together”

🛑 Don't Do This:

  • Don’t lead with urgency, countdown timers, or “last chance” offers

  • Don’t bait-and-switch — your digital asset should stand on its own

  • Don’t sell before you’ve served

✔️ Better Strategy

Cold leads warm up with consistency and clarity. Focus on demonstrating:

  • What you do

  • Who you help

  • The transformation you offer

  • Why you care

Let them choose to move forward when the time feels right.
